LIFT DAY
Night elf dirty dish water sculpture dismantled and memory holed before dawn. The questions it raises and thoughts it might inspire throttled at birth, like an unwanted crop circle under the urgent blade of the farmer's combine, laboring in the dark, eager, desperate even, to restore the pretense of normalcy, primacy of reason, simple truth of yoeman's work; to savor the chimera of peace offered by the properly cut field.
The disposal, under the night elves' guiding hand, has been clattering, between full jams, at ear splitting levels for days now. It stops. Totally normal function. Resumes clattering. Stops. Resumes. And, finally, stops clattering completely and finally. Restored to a perfect, factory fresh, garbage eating, low hum.
Message from the universe duly accepted, I choose to ignore the apparent intergenerational night elf wine theft collab, keep my "god fuckin dammits" to zero for the second day running, finish the chores, and determine, feels notwithstanding, to take the advice my Grandmother would have given.
